Service Description
This 1 day course introduces you to the various skills that are required to enjoy hiking across the UK's mountains. To explore the fantastic mountains within the UK it is essential to have a strong understanding of route planning, navigation and emergency procedures. Reading a map, walking on a bearing and pacing are all skills that are needed to travel safely and efficiently. On this course we start with some map reading basics and then progress our way through various skills. At the end of day you will have a great selection of navigational tactics to chose from and an increased confidence in your ability to navigate in difficult conditions. We also take the chance to look over planning a hike and discussing safety procedures. If you are looking to gain confidence to get out on your own adventures, this is designed for you.
