Service Description

Learn the skills required to navigate through whiteouts, winds and really wet gloves this winter. To explore the fantastic mountains within the UK safely during the winter it is essential to have a good understanding of navigation. Reading a map, walking on a bearing and pacing are all skills that are needed to travel safely and efficiently. On this practical day we will aim to cover navigational basics as a foundation and then build upon them with specific winter navigational techniques. After this day you will have built confidence in your navigation, discovered a great range of navigational tools and have created a simple strategy to use the next time that you end up in a whiteout.
